Associate Director- Financial Controller

**Location:** Mumbai **Reporting to:** Senior Director-Finance **Team Size:** \~20 extended team with Accounting, Receivables, Payables, Tax & Treasury **Role Purpose** Own end-to-end financial controllership, governance, and cash management. Ensure accurate books, strong compliance, tight working capital control, and provide sharp financial visibility to drive profitable growth. **Key Responsibilities** **1. Financial Controllership & Closure** - Lead monthly, quarterly & annual closure with clean books - Own P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, provisions, and reconciliations - Ensure adherence to Ind-AS & IGAAP and accounting policies - Drive audit readiness and strong internal controls **2. Process, System and Analytics** - Marketplace (Amazon, Nykaa, Flipkart etc) & D2C reconciliation - Payment gateway, returns, refunds tracking, commission and settlement validation - Strengthen system, processes and automation by leveraging ERPs and BI tools - Build scalable processes and reporting discipline - Build insights & data for management for informed decision making **3. Compliance, Audit & Governance** - Ensure 100% compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, Companies Act - Lead statutory, internal, and tax audits - Handle notices, assessments, and litigation - Strengthen internal financial controls (IFC) and risk frameworks **4. Accounts Receivables Management** - Own Days Sales Outstanding, ageing, collections efficiency - Define credit limits, payment terms, and risk controls - Drive distributor / MT / key account reconciliations - Ensure bad debt provisioning and recovery governance **5. Accounts Payables & Vendor Governance** - Ensure accurate invoice processing and timely payments - Drive GRN matching, approvals, and payment controls - Optimize payables cycle while maintaining vendor trust - Control trade spends, claims, and leakage risks **Key Success Metrics** - Working Capital Days - Closure of Accounts - Receivables: DSO reduction and on-time collections - Payables: Optimized cycle and zero penalties - Audit/Compliance: Zero major gaps - Any other key metrics which evolve as per business needs as part of the role **Candidate Profile** **Education** - CA (mandatory, strong academic track, first or second attempt preferred) - Strong grounding in accounting standards, taxation, and audit **Experience** - \~ 5+ years of experience in controllership roles - Proven experience in: - Financial closure & audits - AR, AP and working capital management - Treasury and cash flow control - Compliance and governance frameworks - Lead and develop high-ownership finance team (more than 20 extended member team) - Experience in FMCG, D2C & Retail is preferred **Behavioral Skills & Traits** - High integrity and control mindset - Detail-oriented with business understanding - Strong stakeholder management (Management, auditors, Sales & Supply Chain Partners etc.) - Bias for process rigor and continuous improvement
